Dr. Dorothy D. Crisostomo

Chairwoman, Past President | Programs Director| Founding Member

Dr. Dorothy Crisostomo is a dual Board-Certified Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner, known for her holistic approach to patient care. She holds a Bachelor’s from Georgia Baptist College of Nursing, a Master’s from Walden University, and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice and Psychiatry from Brandman University.

Dr. Crisostomo served as a clinical instructor at Georgia State University, CEO of U-First Healthcare, and founder of U-First Community Development Center. She is a Co-Founder and Chairwoman of the Haitian American Nurses Association of Georgia and Treasurer of the United APRN of Gwinnett and Forsyth. A passionate advocate, leader, and mentor, Dr. Crisostomo is committed to empowering communities and advancing healthcare.

Mme. Midelyn Louis

President | Education & Social Services Director

Midelyn is a compassionate and influential leader, known for her unwavering commitment to success and her dedication to serving low-income seniors in Cherokee County. As the founder of a senior care agency and a nonprofit supporting underprivileged seniors, she has dedicated her life to ensuring they receive the care they deserve. In addition to managing her thriving business with her husband, she volunteers for mission trips and established the Vlad Athletic-Health Scholarship in 2023. With over 20 years of healthcare experience, including roles in clinical practice, training, and executive management, Midelyn is respected for her visionary leadership in the healthcare sector. She serves as the president, COO, and Clinical Director of Cherokee Angel Senior Care & Training Center, where her strategic and operational improvements have significantly enhanced service delivery and patient satisfaction. A dedicated member of several professional organizations, including the Haitian American Nurses Association and the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce, Midelyn is passionate about education and empowering her community. Her vision as a leader is to cultivate a nurturing environment that improves healthcare outcomes for all.

Mme. Suzie Pierre

I’m Marie-Suzette Pierre, a Registered Nurse at Northside Hospital with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and CMSRN certification. My nursing experience includes managing a COVID-19 center, leading a pediatric office, and conducting audits for The Joint Commission to ensure quality standards. I’ve received multiple Good Catch Awards for patient safety and nominations for the DAISY Award and Nurses’ Choice Clinical Excellence Award. Outside of nursing, I’ve held leadership roles at the Haitian American Nurses Association, organizing community initiatives like health fairs and back-to-school drives. A graduate of Grand Canyon University, I’m committed to making a meaningful impact through clinical care, leadership, and community outreach, always prioritizing integrity, empathy, and excellence.

Dr. Yvanne Jean Obei

Treasurer | Fundraising & Accounting Director

Dr. Yvanne Jean-Obei, DNP, FNP-BC, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 25 years of experience in healthcare. She graduated as valedictorian from Cambridge College of Nursing with her associate’s degree (ASN), earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with honors from Chamberlain College of Nursing, completed her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN-FNP) at South University, and earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Aspen University in 2022. Dr. Jean-Obei has worked across a wide range of clinical settings, including primary care, emergency medicine, and specialty clinics. She is known for her compassionate, evidence-based approach and her ability to connect with patients on a personal level. She is the founder of Help Feed a Kid Inc., a nonprofit supporting children and sustainable farming in northern Haiti, and co-owner of Hydrate Oasis & Wellness, a holistic IV hydration and wellness clinic based in Georgia. A proud member of UAPRN and HANA, Dr. Jean-Obei continues to lead with a commitment to improving healthcare access, promoting wellness, and giving back to her community through both her clinical practice and philanthropic efforts.

 
 

Mme. Karen Paul

Secretary | Legislative Affairs & Media-Marketing Director

Karen Paul is a registered nurse, educator, and community advocate with a diverse background in critical care and public service. As the Secretary and Director of Legislative Affairs & Media-Marketing, she combines clinical expertise with strategic communication to advance the mission of her organization. Karen began her career as a school teacher before transitioning into nursing, where her experience as an ICU nurse fueled her dedication to high-quality, patient-centered care and a passion for health equity. She has also served as a volunteer nurse at the Pregnancy Resource Center in Douglasville, GA, providing education, advocacy, and compassionate care to women and families. In her current leadership role, Karen amplifies the voice of nurses in health policy discussions and expands the nonprofit’s reach through media and marketing initiatives, believing that informed caregivers and empowered communities are essential to lasting change in healthcare.

Mme. Lise Tassy

BSN, RN CLNC, CCDS
Board Liaison & International Affairs Director

Lise Tassy has been a Registered Nurse for 30 years working in ER, ICU, Medical, Surgical, Ortho, Oncology, and Home Health Care. She is a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant and a Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist.

Lise Tassy is a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate), volunteering her time and expertise to advocate for children in the Foster Care System. She is also a member of IWOH (International Women of H.O.P.E.) and NCC (Nurses Caring for Communities). She has volunteered with several organizations for local Health Fair events, and Medical Mission trips to Haiti and Dominican Republic. She also hosted Kajou TV Health Segment show in Florida.

In 2023, Ms. Tassy started The Lise Tassy Nursing Scholarship providing grants to qualified nursing students of Haitian descents. On her spare time, Ms. Tassy enjoys playing the piano, traveling, and spending quality time with her family.

Dr. Nahomie Mirville

DNP, MSN Ed, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, APRN
Compliance Officer | Historian Director

Dr. Nahomie Mirville, DNP, FNP, PMHNP, is a passionate nurse and community leader with over 24 years of experience across diverse clinical settings, including family practice, emergency care, telemedicine, and urology. Holding a Doctorate in Nursing Practice and certifications as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatry Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, she blends academic expertise with compassionate care. A former dean and professor, Dr. Mirville inspires students to lead with confidence. She is a former chairwoman of the Haitian American Professionals Coalition, an active board member of FANM, and chairwoman of the Love Your Neighbor Now Foundation in northern Haiti. Dr. Mirville is the founder of HANA International, former president of the Haitian American Nurses Association of Florida, and the visionary behind Amavie Wellness Center. She also co-owns NM Collections, a clothing line raising awareness for breast cancer and domestic violence. Through her work in media, as a playwright, and in mentorship, she advocates for women’s empowerment and community service.
